Weave an Urn Workshop
Tipton, Michigan
Join an intimate group for a weekend of learning to weave with plants by a lake in Southeast Michigan. Attendees will choose their own individual basket to make, from urns, to backpacks, to foraging baskets. The weaving instructor (also a funerary artisan) can happily guide you through the beginning of your own urn. The urn can be finished on a date you both later agree on to add a custom natural fiber liner and a woven lid.

Free Community Coffin Weaving at the Michigan Folk Festival
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Come join the Michigan Folk School in a celebration of folk crafts, or crafts of the common people. Deathcare is also an ancestral skill and folk craft. One of the planned activities at this event is the community weaving of a coffin of both willow and invasive species, led by funerary artisan Michael Marie. Bring your grief in all its forms and weave with us.
